the truth is this.
only God is comfort.
because God is love.
And when you have God's love,
you claim it.
Nothing else stands between us and that great love,
because somebody else died to take away all the guilt and shame that every one of us has within us that makes it impossible for us to believe that we deserve to be loved.
But God does.
He loves us.
and he's loved us, and will love us regardless.
and what we are capable of feeling is only a glimpse. just a glimpse, of his magnificent glory.
and I just pray that every one of you who reads this will come to see and taste of that glimpse of overwhelming love and humbling glory,
of a God who loves us, whose heart breaks for us a each time we have our hearts broken. how much greater the capacity of an immortal creator to feel the pain of the mortal man he created...
how much more the unfathomable mercy of a God who has been faithful through the ages, who has the unthinkable capacity to forgive, and keep forgiving those who have forsaken, and continue to forsake him.
and He keeps breaking my heart. He keeps breaking my heart with his love.
"the Lord your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love
he will rejoice over you with singing."
"The sorrows for the appointed feasts
I will remove from you;
they are a burden and a reproach to you.
At that time I will deal
with all who oppressed you;
I will rescue the lame
and gather those who have been scattered.
I will give them praise and honor
in every land where they were put to shame.
At that time I will gather you;
at that time I will bring you home.
I will give you honor and praise
among all the peoples of the earth
when i restore your fortunes
